Orofacial Myology is a professional discipline that evaluates and treats oral and facial muscles, postural and functional disorders, and oral habits that may disrupt normal dental, facial, swallowing and speech development.
Does your child present with speech articulation issues, especially with sounds: L, R, S, Z, CH, SH or TH?
Does your child breathe through their mouth?
Does your child have an open mouth posture at rest?
Does your child snore or wake up unrefreshed and grumpy?
Does your child have any oral habits like thumb or finger sucking, extended dummy use or putting things in their mouth?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this could indicate that your child may be experiencing an Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder.
